Compassion Opportunities in the Neighborhood

Mission Work in the Baltimore Area

Emmanuel, Baltimore MD

Rev. Martin Schultheis, Emmanuel, Baltimore and Missionary-at-Large begins a transitional stage as he begins to serve the larger community that includes Faith and Work Enterprises. This positions him to be more responsive to engaging the community and connecting people to resources that will be offered through programs at Faith and Work enterprises. We pray that as Pastor Schultheis serves the Emmanuel family and the larger parish of the Sandtown neighborhood that the Lord will work through him to plant the seeds of faith into the lives of many.

Immanuel, Baltimore Maryland

Rev. Lucas Witt joins the mission team at Immanuel, Baltimore to serve in a new way as missionary to the local community. He will be deployed into the neighborhood to connect people with Jesus, equip those who already know Jesus for the work, to organize small group settings, and to develop new leaders. We surround Pastor Lucas and his family in prayer that God will open the door of opportunity for this new work. They are expected to arrive in early December.

First Lutheran Church, Towson MD

Rev. Peter Couser begins the new mission work of relocating First Lutheran Church in Towson to Concordia Preparatory School's Campus, where in partnership they will establish a new worshipping community. He will start in the new year and they are planning to begin with new worship at Concordia Prep in September 2021. We pray that the mission work that flows from the merging of these two campuses will bless and nurture the faith of students as well as make a Gospel difference in the neighborhood. We pray that the Holy Spirit directs Pastor Couser’s work.

We remember these ministries and mission opportunities before the throne of God, giving thanks for Pastors Witt, Couser, and Schultheis who are answering new calls for serving. I am confident that through their work and will the guidance of the Holy Spirit, lives will be turned toward God.
