    Ethnic Ministry

We live in the most multicultural nation in the world. Those we disciple and train carry the Good News to every known and unknown geographical point around the world. God is blessing the SED with the opportunity to reach the Deaf, Chinese, Korean, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Liberian, Hispanic, Bosnian, and Muslim communities. Congregations and circuits are becoming welcoming places for new outreach efforts. The new multicultural ministry team is designing a “bridge builder” process to explore multicultural outreach. Many of the SED African American churches are in the midst of changing communities with incredible opportunities as they expand into new outreach. These churches continue to explore worship styles and ways to share the Gospel with a new generation who doesn’t know Jesus.

The Bridge Builders project with new efforts to reach out to the growing Muslim population throughout the SED.

The Chinese Ministry of the Lutheran Church of the Cross was relocated to Messiah, Germantown MD.

An exciting ministry among the African Immigrant Ministries is Zion Praise Tabernacle in Bowie MD in partnership with Trinity Lutheran, Bowie MD.

The Coalition of Lutherans in Black Ministry continues to be the key organization for work within the African American communities.
