Contextual Community Outreach Training using CARE framework
The Community Outreach Training using the CARE Approach offers a comprehensive framework for effective evangelism and community engagement, inspired by St. Paul’s dialogue with the people of Athens in Acts 17. The training is structured around four key components: Connect with others, Adapt cultural expressions, Render intentional services, and Engage with the good news. This approach emphasizes building genuine relationships, contextualizing the message, meeting community needs, and sharing the gospel in culturally relevant ways.
The training is designed to accommodate various time commitments, ranging from a concise 1-hour overview to an intensive 8-week program. The shorter durations (1 hour and 1 day) provide introductory content and basic practical applications, while the longer formats (4 weeks and 8 weeks) allow for in-depth exploration, extensive field practice, and the development of comprehensive outreach strategies. Each component of CARE is thoroughly examined and practiced, with increasing depth and practical application as the duration extends.
Throughout all training durations, participants are consistently grounded in the biblical example of Paul’s approach in Athens, learning to apply these principles in their own contexts. The longer programs incorporate advanced topics such as cultural anthropology, community development, apologetics, and contextual theology. They also include ongoing mentorship, reflective practices, and the opportunity to develop and implement comprehensive CARE strategies for specific communities. This scalable approach ensures that participants at all levels gain practical skills and biblical insights for effective community outreach and evangelism.
