LCEF Annual Meeting—This past week on November 1st and 2nd, LCEF held its Annual Meeting in St Louis. LCEF Bart Day provided his annual report which included a video of Camp Linn Haven and pictures of the distribution efforts to the communities around Emmanuel Lutheran in Ashville.  Bart announced that funds will be sent to Emmanuel Lutheran to help provide generators to those who still remain without electricity in the area.

Southeastern District Vice President Kirk Hymes brought four delegates from the Southeastern District as voting representatives–Ray Schaible (Vine and Branches, Aldie VA), Sheryl Freeman (Peace Lutheran, Washington, DC), Bill Nau (Redeemer Lutheran Richmond, VA), and Sid Heetland (SED Executive Director for Business and Finance) received national presentations, the state of LCEF financial strength, and voted new members to the LCEF Board of Directors.

The big tease of this national meeting was that in January 2025 LCEF will be rebranding itself to include a new and updated website and logo.

Next week we’ll talk about the LCEF Consecrated Stewards program that is available to all SED congregations for developing and good biblically based stewardship training.  Bethany Lutheran in Alexandria, VA recently completed the four-week program and Concordia Lutheran in Hagerstown, MD will be conducting this great training in the spring of 2025.
