LCEF has been one of many organizations supporting the Southeastern District in its response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.
District Vice President Kirk Hymes is shown here presenting a $5,000 check to Pastor Wayne Puls, who is not only the pastor at Grace Lutheran in Woodbridge, Virginia, but also the Chairman of the Board for Lutheran Servants for Christ (LSC). LSC is the Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the LCMS, dedicated to expanding the disaster response capabilities of the Southeastern District. This LCEF contribution helped LSC purchase a mobile shower trailer, providing disaster response workers and victims the opportunity to take a hot shower. You can learn more about Lutheran Servants for Christ here.
Additionally, LCEF provided a $15,000 check to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Asheville, NC, to help meet the energy and heating needs of disaster victims who are still without heat and power. This donation is part of a significant contribution to the overall Synod disaster response effort.
If you haven’t seen the LCEF video about the impact of Hurricane Helene on Camp Linn Haven and the surrounding areas in western North Carolina, please watch or rewatch it here.
A very interesting shorter LCEF video about the Camp Linn Haven Miracle Tree can be viewed here.
Please share these videos with your friends and congregations. Camp Linn Haven plays a crucial role in providing ministry to our youth, and your generous support will ensure that the camp can open for next summer’s campers.
LCEF is a ministry partner with the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The LCEF family is here to help meet your diverse needs. Please contact Kirk Hymes at kirk.hymes@lcef.org if you have any questions about investments, loans, or ministry needs.
