If you aren’t familiar with the capabilities and information you and your church leaders can access with MissionInsite, you might want to explore its capabilities. MissionInsite is a web-based tool that helps churches understand their community and make strategic decisions. You have web-based access to demographic information for population, income, education levels, ethnicity, and much more. Find out what your neighbors feel about Jesus, God and especially what they think about the church. You can define a study area by radius around your church’s address, zip code, or city.
Demographics studies are invaluable in helping churches make informed strategic decisions. They provide crucial insights to know who your neighbors are. What are their ages, ethnicity, gender balance, and socioeconomic status. Best of all, MissionInsite reports let you know what they looked like 10 years ago, what they look like now and what are they forecasted to look like in another 10 years in some cases. This gives you a chance to make outreach decisions based on what your neighbors will look like, rather than what they’ve been in the past. This is critical in being responsible to their developing needs.
This service is free to you, and you can access it in one of two ways—first, by reaching out to Kirk Hymes who can provide you not only with the studies, but he’d be more than willing to provide a presentation and a greater in-depth presentation to individuals or groups. The second option is for you to request an account for yourself. Again, reach out to Kirk and he’ll let you know how you can get access.
