Get Moving, SED!
Small Steps Toward a Healthier You
If you’ve been part of ministry life for any length of time, you know how easy it is to pour yourself into caring for others and forget to care for yourself. Long hours, unpredictable schedules, and the emotional weight of ministry can take a toll. That’s why, as part of our district-wide Move It! wellness initiative, we’re inviting all church workers and leaders to take small, intentional steps toward better health — together.
This isn’t about adding another item to your to-do list. It’s about rediscovering the joy that comes from moving, breathing, and living fully in the bodies God has given us. Acts 17:28 reminds us, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” Our physical well-being is part of our spiritual life — a way of honoring the God who created and sustains us.
What is Vitality?
One of the easiest ways to begin is through Vitality, a health and wellness program offered through Concordia Plans. Vitality is designed to help you turn healthy choices into lasting habits, while offering small rewards along the way.
You earn points for things you may already be doing — taking a walk, completing your annual check-up, joining a fitness challenge, or even engaging in financial and spiritual wellness activities. These points can be turned into Vitality Bucks, which you can redeem for gift cards to places like Southwest Airlines, Nike, REI, and more.
But the real reward isn’t the points or the prizes. It’s the way small steps begin to add up — the way you start to feel more energized, more present, and more able to serve the people God has placed in your care.

Why It Matters
When we take care of our health, we’re better equipped to care for others. Healthy leaders create healthy churches. The Move It! initiative isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress. It’s a reminder that we don’t walk this journey alone. As a community of believers, we encourage one another to keep going, to move with purpose, and to remember that our strength comes from the One who gives us life.
So let’s keep moving, SED.
Let’s celebrate each step forward, each small victory, and each moment that reminds us: in Him, we live and move and have our being.
