A New Chapter in Charlotte: All Saints Classical Academy

In the heart of Charlotte, something beautiful is beginning to take shape. All Saints Lutheran Church is expanding its ministry by launching All Saints Classical Academy, a new school formed from years of prayer and a growing desire among families for a deeply rooted, Christ-centered approach to education.
The academy’s mission is clear and compelling:
“To partner with families in providing a classical Lutheran education rooted in the Church’s liturgical life to form students into the image of Christ and cultivate faith toward God and love toward neighbor.”
What began as a small preschool co-op has blossomed into a full academy – evidence of God’s steady shaping and the faithful work of His people.
Why a New School?
Education is shifting quickly, and families are searching for more stable, meaningful options. After years as a public-school teacher, the headmaster has seen these pressures firsthand. The Lutheran tradition, however, carries a centuries-old educational heritage that brings together what modern society often keeps separate: church, family, and school.
All Saints is reclaiming that heritage by establishing the Charlotte area’s first classical Lutheran school. The academy will use a hybrid model, weaving together the strengths of the home and the classroom:
- Mondays and Wednesdays: on-campus instruction
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: at-home learning
- Fridays: field trips, service projects, enrichment, and catch-up time
This rhythm not only supports family life but also keeps the academy anchored in the church’s liturgical life. Chapel, Scripture, prayer, and the celebration of feast days will shape the daily and yearly rhythm of the community. Every subject is connected to Christ, who holds all truth, goodness, and beauty.
Launching in Fall 2026
The academy plans to open Fall 2026 with Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Behind the scenes, the team is joyfully preparing curriculum materials, daily schedules, chapel plans, and beautifully arranged classrooms for that long-awaited first day.
Looking Ahead
As enrollment grows, additional grades will be added each year with the goal of becoming a full K–12 academy. The vision stretches beyond Charlotte, too. The team hopes to support and partner with other congregations and families dreaming of similar starts, fostering a network of classical Lutheran schools across the region.

How the SED Is Supporting the Work
The Southeastern District has walked closely with All Saints throughout the process. From President Harmon and Rev. Schultheis to Tom Kolb and Deaconess Robin Domeier, the district has provided guidance, encouragement, and connections within Lutheran education circles.
The congregation is especially grateful for the $10,000 New Start Grant, which will assist with start-up costs and first-year operations.
