SED Webinar – “Strengthening the Body of Christ”
Jan 9, 2025 10:00 AM Eastern Time
DESCRIPTION: Engage with Pastor Clint Lutz in three vital aspects of strength training that become increasingly crucial as we age. Aging is natural, but we nevertheless want to be great stewards of our bodies that God has so fearfully and wonderfully made so that we may serve him well. We’ll examine how resistance training serves as our best defense against age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia). We’ll delve into strength training’s profound impact on bone density. As osteoporosis threatens many aging adults, particularly women, weight-bearing exercises stimulate bone formation and reduce fracture risk. We’ll discuss how strength training enhances metabolic health and cognitive function. Beyond building muscle, resistance exercises improve insulin sensitivity, boost metabolism, and release beneficial proteins that support brain health. Throughout the presentation, he’ll share practical strategies for creating new fitness habits and incorporating strength training into daily routines regardless of fitness level or experience.
