OM-360 – District Student Aid Program

A priority of the Southeastern District (SED) is to raise up LCMS professional church workers. To financially assist those who have pledged their service to become rostered LCMS workers, SED has established a Student Aid Program that is administered by the Student Aid Task Force, comprised of church workers and laity of the District. The Program is funded through the allocation of budgeted funds of the SED as well as donations from generous individuals, congregations, and service organizations.

Regulations and procedures regarding the SED Student Aid Program can be found in OM-360. An application for assistance is required for each year of study, using the SED Student Application form. Other forms will not be accepted. All applicants are required to have an endorsement from their home pastor, or congregational president if there is a vacancy or, if the student’s father is pastor. Awards are for one year only and do not imply a commitment from one year to the next. The Student Aid Task Force will review applications during the summer. Applicants and their respective financial aid offices will be advised in mid to late summer of grants awarded. Awards are disbursed directly to the school listed on the application in two installments: first in August and then in late December. Questions regarding the grant process can be directed to Sidney Heetland, Director of Business and Finance at sheetland@se.lcms.org

To ensure consideration, the application and all required documentation must be received by the District office by 7 June 2024.
