As members of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod, congregations form constitutions and by-laws based on the doctrine, theology, and by-laws of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod and the Southeastern District.
The SED provides guidance for congregations forming or updating their constitution and bylaws. New constitutions and by-laws, as well as any changes to current constitutions and by-laws, are submitted to the Southeastern District Constitution Review team appointed by the District President and then finally reviewed and voted on by the Board of Directors of the Southeastern District.
